Derek's birthday bash

My hubby works very hard everyday so I wanted to give him a fun treat to help him relax for his birthday!
It was a success!  Thanks to Ben and Megan for hosting and Lance and Jenae who came for the festivities.
We all met the Sunday of Memorial weekend at Ben and Megan's and all that Derek knew was we were bringing the camper and the guys were camping out and the girls would stay in the house.  We had a huge dinner and I made Derek's favorite, ice cream cake!  Ben went above and beyond and planned the first annual:

DEARek Grylls Manly Men Challenge. 

Ben knows that Derek is a huge Bear Grylls fan and so he made a few outdoor challenges for the guys to enjoy.
They had clay pigeon shooting.
Target practice.
Fishing.
And they finished with a "Do you know the Manly Men of the Bible quiz", which was worth most of the points for the challenge.
They had a blast!
Ben lead a devotion by the fire, but not before the two of them decided to swim the pond at
10 o'clock at night!  Derek felt like a teenager again.  It was so good to see him relax, laugh and enjoy himself so much!
The last surprise was a Monday morning golf outing.  What a grand finale!
