It's a Brand New Day!

Good morning!

Thank you seems to simple to say right now to each of you. But.... THANK YOU for all your prayers, encouraging notes and for signing the petition. It means so much to our family and to so many other families.

Pray today as the Joint Council is meeting with the Ethiopian government on this issue. They are hopeful and these meetings have a history of going very well.

Derek and I have no idea what the future on this earth holds....do any of us??? We are trusting and know that God will lead us in the right direction. We were called to adoption and God never promised us that it would be the easy route. We are trekking along on our journey beside each of you. It is so ironic that we started this process ready to adopt from Rwanda and, as you remember, just as we were getting going, Rwanda closed down to adoptions. Now, almost 7 months later, Ethiopia is experiencing trouble. How can we be surprised that Satan would bring opposition to this? We are grateful for the Hope that we have in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. This life and troubles are temporary and we are focusing on the Perfection we will experience in Heaven some day! Praise God for that!

2 Corinthians 4: 16-18
Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.


I wanted to share with you some light we received in the midst of the darkness. Yesterday, surprisingly, our agency still sent 2 referrals {2 families got matched with their child for the first time} and many families received court dates to travel to meet their child!!! That is amazing news. We were stunned to see the movement we saw with such uncertainty surrounding.

Don't stop praying! There is Power in prayer!!!

1 Peter 3: 11-13
They must turn from evil and do good;
they must seek peace and pursue it.
For the eyes of the Lord are on the righteous
and his ears are attentive to their prayer,
but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.”
Who is going to harm you if you are eager to do good?
