A few weeks ago I (along with some other special gals) had the privilege of throwing my dear friend, Karen a surprise 40th birthday party! I cherish this friendship. We have walked this journey of life together for over 13 years now. We have been through a lot together. So it was a blast to blow her socks off with a birthday surprise.
We were all waiting at the restaurant for the first of the two surprises when she and Steve arrived. We enjoyed a wonderful meal, lots of laughs, gifts and kind words to our birthday girl. We wrapped up the dinner party, hugged and said our goodbyes, so she thought. We all rushed to the next location, which was a friend's beautiful patio that we had decorated for the second half of the party. She had absolutely no idea we would all be there. Needless to say, Karen was so confused and VERY surprised.
