Our littlest little turned 7!!!!
Layla is so full of life! She had absolutely no problem with letting EVERYONE know it was her birthday. She actually started the countdown and sharing her news about 30 days prior to the big day!!! She is funny. Kind. Energetic. Helpful. Social.
We just love her to pieces.

About two months ago Layla mentioned that she wanted her birthday party to be a puppy theme. So I got started on the planning. I thought how cool it be to have it at an animal shelter but wasn't sure if they even allowed that! I gave a call to the New Life Pet Adoption Center and, to my surprise, they said they host birthday parties!!! YAY! As Derek and I were talking we said how fun it would be to bring in a puppy at the end of the party and say here's one more to play with and then tell Layla and Adah they got a dog!!! Never thought it would happen in a million years! Well, here's a million years!!! Layla has been asking for a dog as long as she has been able to talk! We had said no for a long time. Too much work having a dog. :) (It is by the way!) After some talking, Derek said let's do it! "If you find a gray Schnoodle, I'm in" were his exact words. So, one week prior to the big birthday party we bought a pup. The night before the party we drove about three hours away to pick him up. All the while keeping it a surprise from our girls and pretty much everyone else! It all happened so fast we really didn't have time to share. We also wanted it so much to be surprise to the girls! Boy, it was!!!

Good thing God made them soooo cute or I would have given him away already! :)
LOTS of work!!!! The girls had a sleep over and Derek and I had the first night to be alone with our little puppy. Two sleepless nights in a row! Yikes!

We were able to play with lots of the shelter animals.

yay! a puppy :) hopefully he's as good as picking up stray bits of food off the floor like ours- that's my favorite thing about her!
