We had a wonderful weekend celebrating Jesus' Death and Resurrection!
He has Risen. He has Risen indeed!!!
Of the many fun activities we participated in this year, the Good Friday service was one of my favorites. The four of us attended the noon service as a family. Our Pastor has such a wonderful, authoritative way of preaching and we appreciate him so very much. We are blessed that his ultimate Authority comes from the Lord!
At one point in his sermon, he was talking about Jesus dying on the cross and saying his last words, "It is finished"! Some would argue that he was saying that his life was over. But that is not it at all. The Greek word for "It is finished" is "Tetelestai" which means the debt is paid in full.
The debt- our sins.
Paid in full- by Jesus.
How- dying on the cross.
As Pastor was sharing, he gave the example of having a receipt- like getting a receipt when you finish paying for something. After a little while, Adah looks up at me {with such excitement} and says, "Mom, I have a receipt and Layla has a receipt and you and dad have a receipt!" I was so blown away by my little girl's understanding of what He was saying! I replied, "yes, we do sweetheart. Isn't that exciting. What a gift!" She recognized that she, her sister and her mom and dad have all trusted in Jesus for their Salvation and each have a receipt stamped,
"Paid in Full".
So, do you have a receipt? I pray you do! It is the Greatest Purchase you NEVER had to pay for!
Thank you, Jesus for your Sacrifice.
As I said, we did have a great weekend together as a family. We hung out with friends, colored eggs, cleaned up trash all over town {Green & Clean}, ate way too much and hunted for eggs and baskets. Here are some pics from our weekend.
Lord, help us to remember this Precious Gift every day of the year!
